Stopping to take photos to cover our hiking fatigue, we let the 80-year olds spritely pass us enroute to their pond pilgrimmage. We've heard similar stories of the elderly leisurely strolling up the side of Mt Fuji during the August climbing season, whilst our gaijin friends, struggle with oxygen cans and hysterical tantrum bursts. They're a vigorous bunch. Certainly our new octogenerian goal.
