Be Somebody - Kings of Leon
Today's walking inspired quote:
We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give. ~ Sir Winston Churchill
Hey Soundtrack fans, family and friends. The Trailwaker donations page is up and running at Justgiving for our super fabulous team, The Soundtracks Remixed. In just 10 and a half short weeks we are embarking on our adventure in lunacy again as we walk 100km in 48hours for Oxfam Trailwalker Japan 2010. Yes, we’re dragging ourselves over the grueling 100km course - from Odawara to Yamanako-ko, through Fuji-Hakone-Izu National Park, over more than 7 mountains, up and over the Yozoku Pass, past Mt Fuji - all in under 48 hours. AND all for charity.
But we’re always up for anything and will do our very best, always living life out loud. We would LOVE you to be a part of all this insanity from wherever you are in the world. Help us raise money for Oxfam to overcome poverty and injustice for those less fortunate than ourselves in some of the poorest communities in the world. And be a part of The Soundtracks Remixed 100ks of tantrums, tears, meltdowns and fabulously amazing moments. You can donate as little (and we mean as little) as you like or more…we’ll take anything!
Thanks for cranking the volume up with us. Can’t wait to hear your thoughts, sage advice, and wisdom on this particular endeavour or just have a good laugh at our expense and perhaps send us a few words of ridicule. Anything goes..
Big, big, big THANKS and BIG LOVE to Jackie for taking time out of her 'Save the Whales' campaign to be our very first sponsor. Thanks Jaxybelle for your WONDERFULLY generous donation via our Justgiving page! You're awesome.
For 2 members of the Soundtracks, we wish them loads of luck (and courage) as they jam, can-can, tambourine, hip-hop and time-warp their way through the school concert tomorrow night. Yes, you can can can. In fact, we hear a rumour that a hip-hop version of 'Wind Beneath My Wings' is en route. We can't wait to show the world your talent.
Our international Soundtrack member has new shoes and is training up Mt Cootha this week. (Sorry Bris-vegans, but it's not really a mountain)... But we're sure Nat's got Ricky Martin on the iPod, Living La Vida Loca-ing the whole way up with her. All 287m.
And for the other half of the Soundtracks, it's back to the sheer panic of training for... the 2010 Tokyo Marathon! We will keep you updated... during the event... if Trace's iPhone lasts that long. The reality of this situation is really just sinking in…Hello 42km of insanity. Totally nervous and not sure exactly what we’re in for. But everyone's got to run a marathon once in their lives, right?
Thanks for your support...
