Yes we like!

Awesome (hate that word but so appropriate) write up as usual and such a shame the elements played against you and the others.
More choices for you - Germany is doing it's first event this year and there are two in the UK...
Great job ladies - and what a fantastic support crew!

good luck next year - hiking over golden week? :)

cheering you onwards to the next challeng...YATTA!!!

I think I speak on behalf of those of us who have known you the longest Trace. You are an inspiration. To look at you - you are totally unrecognizable. I would never know it was you. And to see you now so full of energy, love of life. When we heard you speak at the guest event you had most of the room in tears. And have touched countless people to start their own journeys. I hope you do this every year - the Trailwalker. To remind you of where you have come from and how much you have been through to get here. I hope to join you one day. Well done on an amazing blog, words and pictures. You and Dee always make a great team. 54km in those conditions is amazing. I am proud of the whole Soundtracks team. Well done girls. What an adventure.

Really great account of the event and describes the CP4-CP5 slog perfectly and very eloquently. Those that weren't there will probably not be able to imagine or believe quite how horrendous and even dangerous those 18km were. Although we stubbornly ploughed on until the end everything after CP5 is a bit of a blur. If you can get through that stage then I'm sure next year can't throw anything worse at you - this year's experience should be the perfect training run!

Thanks for that amazing reflection Dee...you've been an amazing blogger throughout our crazy adventures!!
Cheers to you! xx

the Garmin map point was absolutely GREAT!!! loved it and some great shots too...well done, hope to see y'all there next year or before somewhere for a Corona or two!

Hey lovely ladies, well done, you experienced the worst and you're still up for next year. Good on you! And thanks so much for lending me your headlamps, you were, quite literally, life-savers. Go Soundtracks! xx

Soundtracks - what can i say - it was nice to meet you on the trail - wish it could have been under slightly less traumatic circumstances! I'll cheer from the sidelines if you go again, but I will never ever ever go on that trail again. you guys relax and celebrate a great effort!

See you next year :-p

The humanitarian crisis in Darfur and eastern Chad that started in 2003 is one of the worst in the world. Many have seen their family killed, abducted or sexually assaulted and their villages burned. Ongoing violence continues to cause people to flee. 2.5 million people are living in difficult and dangerous conditions in overcrowded camps.
South Africa has been particularly badly affected by the HIV and AIDS pandemic. Oxfam supports partner NGOs doing HIV and AIDS awareness work, provision of voluntary counseling and testing, and support to people living with HIV and AIDS. Their work extends to tackling Violence Against Women (VAW) that it is seen as one of the factors driving the HIV and AIDS pandemic.
"School of All" in Mindanao, the Philippines. In 2005 it was recorded that 14% of the population were unemployed and 40% of the population lived below the poverty line. Poverty, on-going conflicts and poorly maintained school buildings make it difficult for children to complete their primary education. 'Education is the way out of poverty for our children', say mothers. Oxfam builds classrooms, toilets and wells in schools to improve the environment for children.
